It’s all about drag. Whether it’s speed or fuel economy, the hull geometry and viscous drag are the primary forces (up to the waterline) that are trying to slow you down…unless of course you are unfortunate enough to find a submerged tree trunk or rock! Stress Outdoor® works on both of these problems!

Computational fluid dynamics is used by Stress Outdoor® to simulate the flow around the hull of vessels to calculate losses and optimize shape to reduce drag. This capability is deeply rooted in the Stress Outdoor® parent company, Stress Engineering Services, where flow simulation is used to calculate the effects of drag forces on just about any subsea component used in the production of offshore oil and gas.
